To Visit
Perhaps the most eco-friendly way is to combine a visit to the award winning Lakeland Motor Museum with a scenic Windermere Lake Cruise. Join the boat at Ambleside or Bowness (please enquire at the pier booking offices) and sail south to Lakeside. On arrival at Lakeside your bus will be waiting to transfer you to the new and enlarged Motor Museum (bus transfer 10 minutes).
After visiting the Museum and Gift Shop there is time to enjoy the lovely riverside Café Ambio, serving excellent cuisine in relaxed surroundings.
Alternatively, your journey may start and finish at the Motor Museum. Bus/Boat operates every hour throughout the day, until the end of October.
Combined tickets are also available until 31st October 2010 covering the Lakeside and Haverthwaite Steam Railway and the Lakeland Motor Museum. Haverthwaite Station is just under a mile from the Museum.
