FBHVC Drive It day

FBHVC Drive It day
Category:

Many classic vehicle enthusiasts take to the road each April to celebrate the British Historic Vehicle Club (BHVC) Drive-it Day, and this year, everyone's invited back to the museum. Whether you're starting out on a classic Lakeland tour or returning home from a Cumbrian car adventure, pop in to see us at the museum and show off your pride and joy. There's plenty of free parking at the museum and with the scenic riverside Cafe Ambio open all day, it's a great place to take a break on Drive It Day.

Bring your own classic vehicle

The museum is open to anyone who is driving their classic on FBHVC Drive it Day. This includes the proud owners of classic cars, trucks, vans and motorbikes, as well as more recent hot hatches, supermini's and high performance sports cars. There is no need to book and there is plenty of free parking for owners to display their pride and joy. Participating drivers and their passengers will also receive discount vouchers for admission to the Museum itsel.

No classic vehicle necessary

You don't have to own a classic vehicle to attend, just simply come along and join in the fun. View the private cars on display, take a visit to the museum or grab some refreshments at the riverside Cafe Ambio. Everyone is welcome to attend and there will be cars turning up throughout the day.

Lots to see and do

Previous FBHVC Drive It Day's saw almost 100 motor cars and motorcycles come together to provide a diverse display of favourite marques outside the museum. We're expecting a good mix of iconic styles from the 20th century, ranging from motoring classics to more recent sports and high-performance cars. All in all, a great day out.
