The museum is conveniently located adjacent to the Lake District's arterial A590, between Newby Bridge and Haverthwaite, only 20 minutes drive from J36, M6 and Central Lakes (Bowness), via the A592. Sat Nav, LA12 8TA. Please follow white on brown tourism signs. FREE PARKING.

BY BUS:
Stagecoach operate the X35 Service that links Barrow, Ulverston, Grange and Kendal. www.stagecoachbus.com

BY BOAT AND BUS:
Alternatively, by boat and bus link from Ambleside, Bowness and Lakeside.

Available weekends only from the 5th November 2011 (excluding Christmas Day) and every day from the 11th February 2012. Click for details.

Join the boat at Ambleside or Bowness (please enquire at the pier booking offices) and sail south to Lakeside.

On arrival at Lakeside your bus will be waiting to transfer you to the museum (bus transfer 10 minutes).

Alternatively, your journey of discovery may start and finish at the museum which provides FREE PARKING.
