Museum named as one of Britain’s top ten classic car destinations

One of Cumbria’s best-known visitor attractions has appeared in a list of Britain’s top ten motoring destinations, following thousands of entries and a vote by readers of Britain’s biggest-selling classic car magazine.

Practical Classics nominated the Lakeland Motor Museum alongside a variety of other museums, castles, tourism hotspots and memorable mountain roads around the country, with the results of the public vote revealed in the latest issue.

Now the top ten is confirmed, a team from Practical Classics are planning a 2000-mile road trip around Britain with a small fleet of classic cars, to visit each location and decide the ultimate winner of ‘Britain’s Best Classic Destination’,

As part of the epic journey, the Practical Classics team will head to the Lakeland Motor Museum on Thursday 10 May, when they will visit the attraction and meet and greet visitors. Customers arriving in their classic vehicles on the day will also be given reduced £5.00 entry to the popular attraction.

Manager of the Lakeland Motor Museum, Chris Lowe, says, “It’s great to be named as one of Britain’s top classic car destinations and we want to make this a celebratory event. We hope plenty of our loyal customers will visit us on the day and show the Practical Classics team what a passionate and enthusiast group of classic car lovers we have here in Cumbria!”

Practical Classics Editor, Danny Hopkins, adds, “Everyone is welcome, so come and join us at for an impromptu classic car show!’
